Chefs Up Front is a culinary extravaganza you and your company will not want to miss! Please join Cooking Matters and Colorado’s top chefs at the Colorado Convention Center on Sunday, April 6, 2014. The evening’s proceeds support Cooking Matters, a program of Share Our Strength, serving the Colorado community. Over the last twenty years, we have completed over 1350 courses and made an impact on the lives of more than 20,000 families. With your support, our goal over the next year is to deliver more than 400 courses in Colorado.

This year we will be hosting a single event with 30 Chefs from across the state of Colorado preparing an elaborate meal tableside for you and your guests. Each chef will showcase the style and cuisine of their restaurant. Entrées will be expertly paired with wine selections from around the world. A few of the 2014 participating chefs include Tyler Wiard and Aniedra Nichols (Elway’s), Jeff Osaka (Twelve Restaurant), Jorel Pierce (Euclid Hall), and Darrel Truett (Barolo Grill).  Check out our 2014 participating restaurant list on the "Restaurants" tab!

Spotlight on our Event and Chef Chair

Event Chair:

James Iacino

Grandson of Mose Iacino, founder of Seattle Fish Company, James Iacino represents the third generation of the Iacino family to be dedicated to bringing the best fresh and frozen seafood available to the Rocky Mountain region. 

As President & CEO, James oversees the performance of the business and ensures that the company maintains its steadfast commitment to the principles that have guided the company for over 95 years. Growing up in the business, James takes his role at Seattle Fish personally, working to sustain its top-tier status and continue to deliver on its legacy of customer service and quality product. He has become a leader within the industry, graduating from the National Fisheries Institute’s Future Leaders program and serving on the Cooking Matters Colorado Board of Directors, taking an active role as the chair for both Colorado’s Chefs Up Front and Taste of the Nation,  events that raise funds to end childhood hunger.  James' passion for education in the Colorado community has also led him to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado Children's Chorale, the Board of Advisors for ACE Scholarships, and the Colorado State University Denver Business Roundtable.

Jensen Cummings

To say that Jensen Cummings was born into the restaurant world is an understatement!  Jensen is a fifth generation Chef and Restauranteur. In his six years in Denver his Chef credits include Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House, TAG Restaurant and ROW 14. Now, he has turned his focus to Heroes Like Us, which he founded, a nonprofit culinary coalition dedicated to fighting childhood hunger through the best in charity food & beverage events. He looks forward to bringing together the Denver community through our love of food, drink and family!
